Large language models like ChatGPT aren't traditional software — they're more like eager interns. They're responsive, flexible, and great at brainstorming, but they won’t always get it right on the first try. Don’t expect a polished, final product from a single prompt. Instead, treat the interaction like a conversation: clarify, follow up, and build on each response.
Be Specific. Seriously.
The more detail you give, the better the result. Instead of asking, “Write a summary,” try, “Write a 3-sentence summary of this article for a busy executive who’s unfamiliar with the topic.” You’ll get a far more useful output.
Give Context Up Front
Pretend you're onboarding a new team member — you wouldn’t just bark instructions, you’d explain what you’re doing, why it matters, and what a good outcome looks like. Do the same here. LLMs perform best when they know the role they’re playing and the goal they’re helping you reach.
